Tesla’s latest app update reveals new features, including integration of its upcoming Los Angeles diner/Supercharger station into the app, insurance discounts for using (Supervised) Full Self-Driving, and more.
The update offers a glimpse into Tesla’s upcoming plans. One highlight is that Tesla is nearing the completion of its LA diner/Supercharger station, and according to a render discovered by Tesla App Updates, the station will be integrated into the app.
Supercharger stations are already integrated into Tesla’s app, but the diner could include additional features, such as in-app food ordering.
A new line discovered in the app reads:”
safety_score_miles_and_miles_percent/safety_rating_discount_screen/safety_score_fsd_discount_experience_fsd.”
This suggests Tesla may offer insurance discounts to customers who use Full Self-Driving (FSD) more frequently while driving.
Another noteworthy addition is an alert message:
“Your vehicle must be connected to the internet to calculate the expected range based on age and mileage.”
This means you’ll be able to tell whether your range estimate is based solely on vehicle data or if it also factors in external information, such as weather conditions along your route.
The Tesla app update also reveals details about the upcoming RWD Cybertruck. This more affordable version will feature a single motor instead of two, a smaller battery, and, according to app updates, a manual tonneau cover and optional outlets in the truck’s bed. The cheaper Cybertruck is expected to launch later this year.
Additionally, the update introduces a new feature where Tesla will display the estimated time needed to preheat the vehicle’s battery before charging begins.
