Your wait is over as Hyundai’s new IONIQ 9 SUV is finally here. The three-row IONIQ 9 promises to “redefine EV mobility” with its sleek, Futuristic design and tech-loaded interior. If the debut caught your attention, just wait until you see it cruising down the road.

At the LA Auto Show last month, Hyundai officially unveiled the IONIQ 9, its first three-row electric SUV. The larger SUV turned heads with its bold new design, spacious interior, and cutting-edge features.

It is 5,060 mm (199.2″) in length, 1,980 mm (78″) in width, and 1,790 mm (70.5″) in height. It is slightly smaller than the Rivian R1S, which measures 200.8″ in length, 82″ in width, and 77.3″ in height.

The IONIQ 9 features Hyundai’s new Aerosthetic design language, with a streamlined roof and flush exterior profile. This design creates an open, “lounge-like” cabin that comfortably seats seven passengers. The first and second-row seats can fully recline and include leg rests for added comfort.

It is powered by a massive 110.3 kWh battery pack which boosts the eclectic SUV’s estimated EPA range of 335 miles of (620 km WLTP range). That’s for the Long-Range RWD model with 19-inches wheels.

The Long-Range RWD model of the IONIQ 9 is equipped with a 160 kW rear motor, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 9.4 seconds. The Performance trim, on the other hand, features an additional 160 kW front motor, reducing the 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) time to just 5.2 seconds.

The interior of the Hyundai IONIQ 9 SUV is packed with its latest software and connectivity tech, including improved EV route planning. The IONIQ 9 has dual 12-inches clusters and integrated monitors, all part of a panoramic curved display.

It also includes e-Active Sound Design, which mimics the virtual driving sound of an EV through the vehicle’s audio system.

It is also equipped with a native NACS port, offers compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, ensuring convenient access to a widespread charging network. Additionally, the SUV supports fast charging with a 350 kW charger, enabling it to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes, an impressive feat given its size.

Following its official debut, the IONIQ 9 has already been spotted on public roads, showcasing its striking presence. A new video from KindelAuto offers an up-close view of Hyundai’s futuristic three-row electric SUV in action. Its bold, forward-thinking design clearly stands out, dwarfing the surrounding vehicles and hinting at its commanding road presence ahead of its upcoming deliveries.

The IONIQ 9 is set to hit the US and Korean markets in the first half of 2025, with Europe and other global regions following shortly after. Hyundai plans to produce the US model at its state-of-the-art Georgia plant, alongside the refreshed 2025 IONIQ 5. Pricing details are expected to be revealed closer to the launch, so stay tuned for updates.
