Kia upgraded its EV6 GT to make it the most powerful car of the brand. The Kia EV6 GT is the automaker’s electric sports car that has given a stylish facelift and even more power. But the best part is that it is still one of the most affordable sports cars (gas or EV) you can buy.

Kia has launched its new EV6 GT in Korea on Thursday with the starting price tag just over $50,000. With new features, more style and power. EV6 GT is the Kia 2022 model that company proclaimed, “Most powerful Kia production vehicle ever.”

Kia placed it against Ferrari Roma and Lamborghini Huracan Evo to prove its powers. The electric sports car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds with the boasting power of 576 hp.

Automaker has officially said the upgraded model “will become a new standard that will change the paradigm of high-performance electric vehicles.”

The upgraded Kia EV6 GT now boasts impressive performance with enhanced front and rear electric motors. It delivers up to 650 hp (478 kW) and 770 Nm of torque when launch control is activated. Even without launch control, the EV sports car still packs a remarkable 609 hp (448 kW) and 740 Nm of torque, making it a powerful contender in the EV market.

There is Kia’s 4th generation bigger (84 kWh) battery pack that makes it accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/hr) in just 3.5 seconds with the driving range of up to 220 miles (355 km). Also it will get a charger fast 10% to 80% in under 18 minutes with a 350 kW charger.

The upgraded Kia EV6 GT enhances control and stability with the inclusion of an electronically controlled suspension (ECS) and an electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) as standard features.

Inside, Notably, the EV6 GT now features 8-way power-adjustable sports bucket seats exclusive to the model. At the heart of the cabin is the new ccNC infotainment system, featuring dual 12.3″ navigation and driver display screens, providing a sleek and tech-forward driving experience.

Despite the upgrades, Kia has decided to “freeze its sales price.” With incentives, the new EV6 GT starts at just over $50,000 (72.2 million won) in Korea. This price makes the EV6 GT an excellent value compared to high-end sports cars like the Ferrari Roma ($245,000), Lamborghini Huracan Evo ($215,000), and the 2025 Porsche Taycan GT Turbo ($230,000).

For U.S. buyers, the updated EV6 was introduced last week at the LA Auto Show, featuring a larger 84 kWh battery, faster charging, and a new NACS charging port for access to Tesla Superchargers. With this new battery, the EV6 offers a range of up to 319 miles. The GT model also gets a slight performance boost to 601 hp, a 25 hp increase from the previous version. Pricing will be announced closer to its launch in the first half of 2025.
